Montego Bay Jamaica?

Unlike the other two, I like to stay in Montego Bay, just for the fact it's more central if you want to see more of the Island.

Definately a day trip to see the beach in Negril, and everyone should go to Ocho Rios & do Dunns River Falls.

Montego bay is convenient from the airport. However, Breezes in Montego bay is very run down. The service is not good, and the resort itself just "looks tired". The Royal Decameron Montego Bay, it does have nice reviews. My mother just got back from there, the beaches are not much to "write home" about. The best beaches are in Negril. They are in a better area of Jamaica. Montego Bay is so industrialized, therefore the beach areas are not great. You will actually see locals washing their clothes in the beach. Negril is the place to go and stay. I have been to Jamaica several times, and have done resort reviews. I am a travel agent and have seen alot. always remember, the cleanliness standards in another country is not the standards the U.S. citizens have. So you have to be VERY careful on hotel selection and location.

I agree with traveler. Even if you go to Montego Bay you should take a trip to Negril it is my favorite part of Jamaica. I am not a fan of Montego Bay and I live in Jamaica, but it depends on your preference. If you like a laid back enjoy paradise and nature then Negril walking on the beach, if you like the city vibe more tourist vibe then Montego Bay is the place. I personally don't like MoBay--to spread out and no "downtown." I'd much rather spend time in Negril. The transportation from the airport to Negril might be a hassle (if the place doesn't arrange) but the 1 - 1 1/2 hour trip by taxi, enjoying a red strip or two, is worth the inconvenience.
