Has anyone flown Skybus Airlines?
I am going to be flying Skybus nonstop from Pease International Airport in Portsmouth, NH to Charlotte County Airport in Punta Gorda, Florida and I was wondering what it is like to fly.

I would highly recommend this airline. My family and I just returned from a trip with Skybus. We flew from Columbus to San Diego. The price was unbelieveable. For a family of 4, round trip, with taxes, was only $160 (yes that was the grand total). We paid a total of $15 each way to check 3 bags and also purchased $2 soft drinks while on board. Both flights were the smoothest flights I have ever been on. Also, the pilots keep you informed of where you are throughout the trip, any weather problems that may come up, and best of all, you can actually hear what they are saying. We did not feel pressured to buy anything and since the plane was not full, we had more than enough room to stretch out. We did board from the ground in Columbus, but not in San Diego. I didn't think it was a big deal anyway. They board from both the front and the back of the plane in order to get everyone on quickly. We have another trip booked to San Francisco (Oakland) in December, where we also paid only $10 each and we are looking forward to flying with Skybus again.

If I had to sum it up in one word, it SUCKED. Sure you get the cheapest fare you'd ever seen, but you are paying the price ultimately. First off, they fly into the airports that are not near the city because the landing fees are cheap there.
They also charge you to check in luggage. Now when you get to the gate, you cannot bring on any snacks or drinks onboard. They'll acutally make that announcement!! Once onboard, I felt as if I were in a sardine can because I had no leg room.
To top it off, they lost my luggage. Now I know that's a risk you take everytime you fly, but since they are new, they have no real policies set up yet. So it took me five days to track down my luggage. The only reason I tracked it down is because I work for an airline.
Anyways..I hope your experience is better than mine, but the next time I have to pay to fly, I will pay a higher premium and get on a real airline. I never thought I'd ever think Southwest was better than someone else.

flew on Skybus to LA. It was not bad at all. The plane arrived on time, i got on fast, no luggage was missing. It was preety good for the price you are paying. Sure you have to buy the food and everything but if you didn't the would have to make you pay more for your ticket for stuff that you might not use. It is a very nice airline and has a very nice crew.
