Black Sect, a church incorporated in the state of California in 1984, is a recent invention. The church is led by Grandmaster Thomas Lin Yun Rinpoche, who developed a distinctive product called Black Sect or BTB Feng Shui. It is sometimes called Black Hat Sect Tantric Buddhist. Black Sect feng shui. The Lin Yun version relies on internal orientation and organization of space. For instance, the Black Sect always orients its bagua in line with a space's entrance.

Black Hat Feng Shui is a relatively new concept in applying the practice of Feng Shui. Many traditional or classically trained Feng Shui practitioners will stir clear of this type of Feng Shui. Their argument is that is generalizes and over-simplifies the essence of Feng Shui.

The key to Black Hat Feng Shui is the Ba Gua Map. The Ba Gua Map is a 3 X 3 grid that lays of eight sectors and the center giving you 9 squares. Each square relates to individual life aspirations such as Fame, Career, Relationship, Children, etc.

The major difference between Black Hat and other methods of Feng Shui is that it does NOT take into consideration the compass direction. In addition, it does NOT take into consideration the time element either. With Black Hat Feng Shui, every house is pretty much treated the same way. Just superimpose the Ba Gua Map over the floor plan and activate the area you are having problems.

The reason many people use this method is due to its simplicity. Just use the Ba Gua Map and you're good to go. No need to do any complicated calculations or take compass readings. Since this is a fairly new practice of Feng Shui, it has not gain any validity with classic Feng Shui practitioners.

The Black Hat Feng Shui is considered New Age Feng Shui and highly controversial in terms of its validity. Be cautious about applying this concept of Feng Shui.
