Life expectancy for someone with 2 leaky heart valves?
Does anyone know how long you can live with 2 leaking heart valves when surgery is not an option? This is for someone who is overweight and in poor general health.
This is a 63 year old man who is still a heavy smoker. He will not take care of himself.

Depends on if the person loses weight and strengthens their heart by exercising. (of course with a doctor's supervision)

I am 54 but I stopped smoking and drinking 10 years ago. I have attended Cardiac Clinics where people who would not survive the op kept attending for 4years. I don't see them anymore because now I only go back once a year. I had a mitral valve replacement 4 years ago and things are getting better.
I think that stopping smoking is a must as ops cost a fortune and if the individual with the hart problem cant make an effort to save there life why should the health system.
I had surgery with a man who had a bypass and needed to drink beer with his meals. Saying who gets an op and who doesn't is a tricky thing but if I was on an operating team I would not want to work on people who wouldn't make an effort themselves.
