Carson Palmer Vs. Good New England D or Matt Hasselbeck Vs. San Francisco?
here is the deal...Hasselbeck had a great game last week against a poor cincinatti defense and again goes up against a poor defense in San Francisco...my question to you is should I still start Palmer at New England or take the chance with Hasselbeck....Palmer has been fairly consistent except in week 2 where he had a great game...So what would you do start Palmer V. New England or Hasselbeck V. San Fran

Although New England has shut down everyone they've played so far, they have not faced a top passing offense yet. (The best was the struggling Chargers; the Jets and the Bills hardly strike fear in opposing secondary's hearts.) They may have given up few passing yards, but the opposing teams' cumulative passer rating is 79.4, which ties them for 11th in the league against the pass, so the Patriots' pass defense isn't impenetrable by any means.
Also keep in mind that the Bengals will more than likely find themselves losing quickly, which means they will be passing more often.
Hasselbeck is a good play against San Francisco, but it's Palmer who is arguably the third best quarterback in fantasy (besides Peyton Manning and Tom Brady), and he should get the chance to pass lots this Monday.
Go with Palmer.

OK think about this. Until Brady got his Receiver-o-plenty offense Palmer was arguably the #2 QB in fantasy football. Now You take The Bengals, Patriots and The Colts receivers they all stack up pretty well against any defense in the league. You wouldn't sit Manning if you had him would you? No not against any D. Even with a questionable Johnson the running game has a decent second team. As far as Hasselbeck goes, I'm not a believer in Branch yet and Engram is the best receiver on a team that likes to run. If the 49ers offense can get it together for a divisional game to get the D some time off the field, San Fran can handle Hasselbeck. That is entirely possible.

Its nice to see all the Palmer fans speak out... now lets jump into reality and look at numbers. while the Bengals are indeed ranked #2 in passing and 5th in overall offense they will be facing the #1 ranked Defense ( #1 against the pass) and (#5 against the rush)... also i would like to point out that the Bengals passing game failed against the #9th ranked defense of the Seahawks who are rated 30th against the passing game.
now onto the Hasselbeck /49ers match up.
The Seahawks are ranked 16th in total offense and 12th Passing. and the 49ers def is ranked 22nd ... 11th against the pass and 25th against the rush. I see Hasselbeck handing off allot to Alexander,, but remember he has 8 throwing targets 4 wide outs 2 tight ends and Alexander and strong, and he is known to utilize them all.
it boils down to gut feeling... i believe the pats def will in fact effectively shut down the Bengals passing machine and leave him with his worst numbers of the season... Hasselbeck will have a game consisting of his usual 60% passing ( 200 + Yards) 40% rushing (100 + yards) with Alexander getting most of the touches!
My choice would be Hasselbeck vs 49ers !

I think the difference here is the receiving corp. TJ and Chad are both legitimate threats every game, and on every offensive play. Whereas, the Seattle receivers are more hit-and-miss, I mean you can't put Burleson, Hackett, or Branch in the same tier as TJ or Chad. The Seattle receivers played very good last week against Cincy, but the consistency for them isn't comparable.

Palmer all the way. He may be without Rudi this week, which means more passes. Hasselback is solid, but doesn't have the weapons that Palmer has.
