slaughter bound horses ready for adoption!!?
here is an article about a wreck that happened a year ago involving a double decker trailer full of 42 horses heading for a slaughterhouse in Illinois. The truck wrecked killing 16 horses, but 25 survived and were taken in by rescue workers. 7 horses have been adopted and 13 are ready to be adopted and are looking for home! This is in the St. Louis, MO area.

I have been keeping up with these horses since the accident. they came from oklahoma. and for the one or 2 that said only unsafe horses go to slaughter boy are you misinformed. alot of the horses on the trailer of the accident were young.
all of these horses have been evaluated and they will let everyone know their degree of training.
get educated on horses slaughter before you support it people as it only makes you look like a fool otherwise.

be carefull! Horses wind up at slaughter houses for a reason! Good horses, especially kid broke horses would be sold and bought long before they enter that situation! If you buy one of those horses, wich was a sad situation, would you put your kid on it? You think they will ever load easy again in a trailer! Ask that question to the t.v trainers that you see on RFD-TV! You know, the 1 hour tapes they sell....

I agree with Stetson, sometimes horses are just renegades and nothing can be done. Not all, but some.
I searched that website for the one hinny that did survive, she must of been adopted.

I remember that accident because the magazine equis had something about it. I hope those horses find good homes.
