Social Sciences incorporate everything to do with the world around us & geography is not just about the location of countries & capitals...it's also about the national products, local resources, ethnicity, & the people of various regions that make up a larger region...

As far as the map aspects of geography, the act of dividing land into countries and personal properties makes it a social science. Can you imagine what it would be like if there were no borders?

actual geography is in keeping with technological know-how because of the fact it desires the calculation of section , longitude , selection , time ,altitude and so forth. yet different than some aspects the entire international is populated with individual , So geography is heavily appropriate with human society . In that experience that's a social technological know-how too .

How in God's green earth do you not understand that with out Geography there would be no society as we know it??? With out Geography we wouldn't have the "New" world. With out geography there wouldn't have been the spice trade which really had a lot to do with the growth of England as a super power in the 17th and 18 th century particulaly. That was one of the main reasons that Columbus was trying to find India, History and geography are intertwined and you don't have one with out the other.

I don't know about the USA, but in the UK geography has two components: Physical (mountain, rivers etc) and Human Geography. This relates to the movements of population, settlements, land uses and all kinds of other stuff. Maybe they just teach the physical aspects in America.

Because it's not a Science and Social Science is where they stick all the leftover crap that should be called "stuff that crazies give a *#*& about and isn't important" like history and philosophy and sociology.
