I felt this would be the best site for you to look at concerning your questions. The local newspaper is always a good source of information. I found it interesting that the temperature at 4:00 PM, Florida time was 35 degrees. It's starting to get chilly.

My wife & I were there in '06 and are, right now planning our return trip for next year. We were there in late May to early June and really enjoyed it. Many of the tourist attractions were open and a few weren't.

Fairbanks can be very hot, 100+ in the summer and -50 in the winter.
