Wilson was taken to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica on August 26, 2007 after a reported suicide attempt (actor slashed his wrists and reportedly took an overdose of pills[16] ) at his Santa Monica home,[17] confirmed by a Santa Monica Police Department log.[18] Once stabilized at St. John's, Wilson was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where his condition was initially described as serious, then later upgraded to good and stable condition.

On August 27, 2007, Wilson issued a statement: "I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time."[19] On August 29, 2007, Wilson dropped out of filming a cameo appearance in Tropic Thunder (replaced by Matthew McConaughey) being produced and starring Wilson's friend and frequent collaborator, Ben Stiller.[20] Wilson was brought home and is now under constant observation. Alive, was just in People the other day.

Yes, he is alive and his brother (Luke) is taking care of him. Apparently he's had a rethink about his suicide attempt. I think he has a drug or alcohol addiction problem. That's part of the reason why it didn't work with him and Kate Hudson.

It was said by the news sources that he attempted suicide by slitting his wrists. His family found him like that in bad condition. He was in the hospital in critical condition but last report he was recuperating well. Thank goodness! He, himself, asked that the media and all of his fans to give him private time to recuperate and get well. I hope this information helped update you some.
