Why can't I download .zip files from Yahoo! Mail?
Hi!
I'm having a problem with Yahoo! mail and zip files. When I download a .zip attachment, everything seems to go normal, but I find that only the zip file's folder comes through to my computer--not the contents of the zipped folder.
I get the e-mail, open/save the attachment, but when the download is complete, it tells me that 0 bytes have been saved (tranferred) to my computer. It's weird, the zip folder is there, just nothing in it... totally empty.
It's like somewhere during downloading, the contents inside the zip file are dumped.
I've tried different things... tried multiple zip files from different sources, opening the files directly from Yahoo!, saving the files on my hard drive, getting a new zip program... but nothing helps.
I even tried using another Yahoo! mailbox. It's the same... I can download the actual zip file, but the zip folder's contents are lost during the download.
Does anyone know why? And what I can do to fix this problem?
Thanks...
T.

It sounds like you may be saving the shortcut rather than the file itself. Try right-clicking the shortcut in your e-mail, then left-clicking "Save Target As" and save it to your computer.

zip files...
you must have in your computer installed program like winzip or winrar or winace these are extractors.
and after you install one of these....you try to open the downloaded zipped file.
or that file you downloaded is damaged from some reason...
