In my opinion I think the ‘ Lord ‘ , has caused more hurt and pain than anyone who may not know him. The lies and fallacy propagated by the belief in a ‘ Lord ‘ has caused more suffering than that suffering induced by anyone not knowing the Lord.
I think there is a saying you might be familiar with ‘ Take the plank out of your own eye , before helping me with my splinter ‘.
Remove the Lord and we remove the foremost cause of pain and hurt in the world for the past 2000 years.
As for being afraid , why should anyone be afraid of a entity that is scared to show himself ?

Don't really understand your question. You seem to have missed a word off the end.
Why would anybody be afraid of asking about "the Lord" ? It's all one big fairy story shoved down the throats of children young enough not to know any better.

It's precisely because they are afraid.
They feel they are defending themselves.
And also because of the varied and negative parts of the histories of religions and their practitioners who have sought to hurt and succeeded in hurting millions of people through the ages.

People r governed by their nature, nature differ from person to person. Its like asking "why Dog barks, it hurt". Its nature of Dog.
Human has the capacity to cultivate its nature, very few do it, mostly let the weed grow.

Why do Christians always assume non-believers are afraid? Is it because you live your life in fear and judging by your own experience therefore assume everyone else is afraid.

Non believers are not afraid of fictional God only believers
are afraid of God because they do not want to go to Hell.
God/Heaven/Hell do not exists do not be scare.

I studied about religion in college. I don't know that I've ever hurt anyone. I reject the Christian religion as wrong. If that hurts you, sorry, but that's life.
