Help Decide - Home audio speaker?
If you have a $1000 and you want to have a good performance home theater speaker, which one would you pick (please don't add anymore brand if you can), I have narrow it down to these 2:
1. Orb Audio Mod1 People Choice
2. Definitive Pro Cinema 1000

Okay, of the two you are considering, the Orb
will give you better imaging, whereas the Def
Tech will give you more performance and sub-
stantially deeper bass. However, I'm sure you
wouldn't be disappointed with either choice.
My choice given your criteria (taken from what
you have chosen) and price range, I would go
with the Hsu Research Enthusiast 2 system,
because not only will it give you greater dynam-
ics and better balance between the channels
than the others, it will sound more like the state-
of-the-art public cinemas. Most public cinemas
also use horn-loaded speakers.
One last thing... If the sphere shaped speakers
are a buying point for you, you should consider
the models from Anthony Gallo Acoustics. They
are the first to utilize this technology and I are in
a higher performance class than the Orb.
