Wouldn't it be wonderful?

Just imagine what it would be like if all the holy books of each religion, such as The Koran, The Bible, The Torah, The Book of I-chings, The Bhagwat Gita, etc, had been created with the same spirit and the flexibility as our Consititution? The beauty of this wonderful instrument was in the manner in which it was created. To be the basic guideline for a society to function in a humanistic way, as well as to be able to evolve. The Constitution had the build-in mechanisms to allow us to debate, apply new information to it and make the changes to it. It has successfully existed and worked for over 200 years simply because it is a living constitution. So why can't the religious books follow the same example? Imagine what a wonderful world it could be!

It would be wonderful but you forget one thing: Religion is a way of controlling humankind. Even if the basis would be noble, some quack would change it over to have more power.

Jesus was the first ever to pronounce that God was a God of love. Before him, God or Gods were cruel, bloodthirsty, nasty beings out to cause mankind trouble. The idea of 'love thy neighbor', 'turn the other cheek', 'the good Samaritan'. etc. were the first tenets adopted by a religion and accepted by the multitudes. They had become tired of being attacked by every one including their Gods.

The fearsome Gods of the stone age people and other primitives which is still being practiced by many in this world, was said to be not the case under Jesus. Also, people could be forgiven their sins by this Christian God. If they truly repented in their hearts. The God of Jesus also declared the dignity of man AND ALSO women. Jesus also warned of 'False Prophets' of which there have been many. eg as Muhammad.

Just as trying to merge other constitutions with our Constitution would degrade or corrupt it making it useless, so would trying to merge other 'false' religions together with Christianity would corrupt it.

Muslims would find true peace on earth by forsaking their wrong path and follow the teachings of Jesus. It would especially benefit the Muslim women who are treated like beasts and deprived of their natural human rights of education and the right to achieve their potentials themselves. A revelation expressed by Dr. Waffa Sultan, a 32 y/o Syrian ex-Muslim who became a Christian when she found out that Christian women were treated humanely and were not only allowed to participate in the general societal functions but were encouraged to do so.

Homey said what?! Religious texts should not be adhered into a written constitution. We're already diverse as is, so save yourself the backlash.

yeah, it would be, but you're talking about a document that was written to be that way....flexible.....whereas the bible wasn't. The bible is written to say, "do it God's way, or else". That is so "controlling fatherly" to me, btw. Or am I just mental???? LMAO
