How can I use acrylic painting?

I just Bought Acrylic painting and Oil Pastel. I like to drawing. It's just hobby. But I don't have any education experience about art.

At Least I should Know How to use it.

Acrlic Painting is basically Like Oil painting but without Oil, It's more Brighter And has higher chroma then Oil painting.

And Oil Pastel is Pastel that mixed with oil It can use on Canvas, Paper, Metal, Acrylic plastic, HardBoard, Anything that Can draw on. It can melt with Oil. Is that Right?

Is that Okay Use it together?I think They have simillar color sense.

Update:

I meant technique for acrylic painting.

I know how can use it.

Acrylic paints are not brighter or higher chroma than oil paints. They're just made out of a different substance. They are water-soluble when wet, and pretty much turn to plastic when dry.

They dry much faster than oils, and don't produce the fumes and odors of oil paint.

Oil pastels can be blended with a little turpentine.

Oil pastels are not really compatible with acrylic paint. It is literally like combining oil and water. You could put a little bit of oil pastel over a base of acrylic, but the surface might be too slick to get a really good adhesion. And acrylic paint would not stick to oil pastel for any lengthy period of time. The oils in the pastel will repel the acrylic paint.

You can use oil over acrylic but I would not recommend putting acrylic over the oil pastels or mixing them together. I would also suggest priming the canvas or board before applying oil pastel. You can "melt" the pastel with mineral spirits or turpentine.

acrylic paints are brilliant ,basically you can use them either as watercolours or oils but the main difference is they dry very quickly so if you were using them as oils you can build up layer and layer of paint and not have to wait hours for them to dry,as with watercolours you can paint and blend usig lots of water and add different colours in.You can use acrylics on almost any thing and once dry will be waterpfoof even fabrics, you can use oil pastles over acrylic to highlight areas white is good for this but the fun will be experimenting,I don't know about melting with oil, hope you have fun

wont work. acrylic paint properties are waterproof when dry, and it dries three times faster than oil. plus using water to dilute paint will weaken acrylic paint and problematic with oil (bubble up) stink to one and it will take you a lifetime to master. try two and you will be searching for another hobby in a month.
