Unless your Ex can prove you an unfit parent or that you are not financially able to provide the necessities of life to your child you will get custody.
If he has made that statement he is either just bragging and lying or he has made up a story to try to prove you unfit. Make sure you have no skeletons he can use against you. He is just trying to get you upset so you will do something he can use against you. Don't let him! Stay cool.

Speak to your husband and discuss what is best for the children. At the end of the day, you (your husband included) shouldn't make your children pay for your mistakes and you should keep in mind that they have to live with that parent until they are old enough to leave home. My children were granted to me by the court, but have been living with my ex for the last 7 years. We discussed what was best for the children and did not fight over it and came to a peaceful decision. It doesn't get easier saying goodbye to them every time, but it helps to know that they are better off (financially) where they are now.
