It helps if you know the Latin or Greek roots of the words. For example, "macromolecule" is a combination of "macro" (meaning "big") and "molecule", so a macromolecule is a molecule that's big compared to other molecules. "Monomer" and "polymer": "mono" means one and "poly" means many, a polymer is a molecule put together of many pieces.

Words with similar Latin or Greek roots also have similar meanings. "Lipid," for example, has the same root as "liposuction", which is a surgery that sucks fat from people's bodies. Lipo... suction. Sucking of lipids (fats). "Polysaccharide": "poly" means many, "saccharide" sounds like "saccharin", a sugar substitute. The root "-sacchar-" means sugar. So a polysaccharide is a sugar made up of many sugar molecules.

Do you anything about roots, prefixes, and suffixes?

    Like monosaccharide.

Mono- means one, and a monosaccaride consists of one sugar, so its simple, and easy to break down.
