If you book a hotel in France online from the UK, which countries law covers the transaction?

    Well if you used a card, either a bank card or a credit card, then it the issuers that are liable for the transaction.

    If paid on a Major Credit Card, the Card Company will underwrite the booking.

    Infact most Credit Cards come with insurance(Purchase Protection,Fraud Cover).

    Therefore it's covered by the UK Payment method you purchased.

    Some Individual Holiday Insurance Policies also work in these circumstances.

    France because it has subject matter jurisdiction where the transaction was completed.
