Why did the DiamondBacks change their colors?
I thought their original colors were unique - they incorporated the southwest look. Now they look just like the Angels and Nationals in their home white and red. Watching an Angels / Diamondbacks game would be like watching a Notre Dame / Navy game.
Good points. Thanks Hector for the other teams I forgot.

I'm glad they changed it. I don't want to wear purple. But they changed it because a new ownership group bought the team and wanted to put their mark on it. It's fine, San Diego changes their uniform like every 5 years. The Tampa Bay Rays are different next year (No Devil). I do hate though that they look just like the Angels, Nats, Phillies, from a distance in white, but their red uniforms work well, since they're darker, and the white is actually "sand colored". Also now their colors are in line with the Cardinals and the Coyotes, only the Suns orange and purple living on. (The original purple uniforms were actually to incorporate Suns fans, as Jerry Colangelo was owner of both teams!)

Money is behind every decision a professional sports team makes. You can bet that somewhere along the line some beancounter convinced someone else that a color change would mean more apparrell and hat sales.

they changed for the better, even though red is a very common color throughout the major league its not common in there nl west division. and plus mlb wanted them to change it anyway because Colorado has purple in there color scheme
