Microsoft Access Question?

I have a question about copyrighting an Access database.

I created about ninety percent of the database (essentially a customized contact manager) but I did use a small part that I got from a Microsoft template

Does anyone know how this section affects my ability to copyright the rest of the database?

My only frame of reference is when I wrote academic papers in college.

I have never written a software program before.

My assumption is that I would simply give credit to Microsoft for that section of their template that I used.

Is that correct? If not I suppose I could backward engineer the section and build my own.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Jerry

If worse comes to worse you could always e-mail microsoft and ask them for permission to used that section from their template. If they say, save the e-mail for proof later on, and if they say no then you would have to build your own.

sorry i could not give better help.
