Does anyone enjoy Tennyson here?
I don't know about anybody else, but I love the poem "The Lady of Shalott" by Lord Alfred Tennyson, my fav poem of all time. Does anyone else know this poem? What do you recommend if you are a fan of Tennyson?

I love Tennyson and my favourite one is 'Tears, Idle Tears'
This is a bit from it:
Tears, idle tears, I know not what they mean,
Tears from the depth of some divine despair
Rise in the heart, and gather to the eyes,
In looking on the happy Autumn-fields,
And thinking of the days that are no more.
Hope you like it!

when polls are done of people's favourite poem rudyard kipling's 'if' usually comes top, with 'the lady of shalott' second.
if you like 'the lady of shalott' you will probably enjoy 'mariana' and perhaps also 'ulysses', 'the lotos eaters' and 'tithonous'.
'break, break, break', 'as thro' the land' and 'blow bugle blow' are very successful shorter lyrics (so is 'tears, idle tears' which has already been mentioned).
'crossing the bar' is well worth a look.
my personal favourite tennyson is 'the princess'. it is a long poem, and not really what people expect of tennyson (at least not what you expect if you know only the shorter poems).
it is well worth the effort.
