If I have a domain name registerd, how can I receceive email at myname@mydomain.com?

If I've registered a domain name, can I set something up so that I can receive mail at myname@mydomain.com? How does it work? Can I have it routed to my Yahoo! email address? Everyone sells packages that include an email account but I'm not eager to pay the $10 a month it will cost to subscribe to those kinds of packages. I just want the domain name, and the ability to send and receive email through my domain.

Check the registrar that you registered your domain with, they almost always offer some type of email program. If they charge more than you want to pay, try http://www.oneworlddomains.com/

You can register or transfer a domain name for about $8/year and they include one email address for free. You can set-up the email address to forward to your yahoo email. Also, you can use their web-based email program or receive email through Outlook, etc.

If you only have the email forwarded to your yahoo account, when you go to reply, the reply is sent using your yahoo email address. This isn't the best solution, as it tends to confuse people, especially if you are using this for business.

I would set-up the email to use their web-based program or Outlook AND forward a copy to your yahoo address. If you don't want to have to be bothered checking for new domain mail, the copy to yahoo will let you know you have received something. Then you can go to the web program or Outlook to respond.

If you want to transition to your new email address for everything, you can pay $20 for a premium yahoo account (for 1 year) and set it up so your yahoo account forwards to your domain email. As you respond to people from your domain email, they will have your new address and you won't have to bother checking yahoo anymore.

OneWorld has a lot of online guides that walked me through setting up everything, so it was easy. Also, they have 24/7 phone support, so I can call them with questions.

I registered my first domain in 2000 and have had a private email address ever since. I love it because it allowed me to create my own online identity.

    Good Luck!

Whoever is hosting your domain can provide a way to route your domain email to a secondary email account.

If your domain is: happygolucky@mydomain.com, the hosting agency can make your email happygolucky@mydomain.com and route it to take all email and send it to whatever email you specifify. It will normally be called a 'forwarding service' and there should be nocharge.

Buy a domain name (you can get one for as little as $2/year) and hosting (for as little as $4/month) and you have your own email address, domain included. (Just have the mail forwarded to your regular account - no one will know.)

You can open a Yahoo Website. Create your own website. Than you can create yourname@yourwebsitename.com. Yahoo makes it pretty easy with their site Builder. That is how I have created my redington site. Check links. Maybe a little more than $10 per month, but you can let your imagination run wild and create a good website. Who knows you might creat the next best idea.
