What causes PC programs to not close? Read additional info...?
every day, my pc gets overloaded. For example, I'll open a word document then close it. When I go into Task Manager, I will sometimes see 2 or more instances of Word still open.
This also happens with Internet Explorer.
I just did a complete reinstall to a fresh formatted hard drive because of the same problem thinking that might do the trick but I am continuing to have the same problem.
I have 1 gig physical memory and as per Task Mgr, I never use up anywhere close to all of it. I am operating with Win2000.
I did a Memory Diagnostic test and that came up OK. CPU usage generally stays pretty low with the exception when I initiall start an application.
The only think I can think of is that the Hard Drive is starting to go. What do you think? Ask me questions, if needed about my system and I will respond. Thanks.
I MSConfiged and only the necessary programs start up on boot.
I've made sure that there is no spyware or viruses so that is not the problem.
I deleted / repartitioned the hard drive then reinstalled everything. So far, it seems to work better than it did.
I think when I partitioned it the first time, I messed something up and that interfered with the programs.
It was odd because I went in to delete everything in Drive "C" and when it was complete, everything in Drive "D" was gone.
So, I'm not sure what happened, but the repartitioning seemed to do the trick for now.

There can be several reasons for this.
First, check MSCONFIG to see if you have Word scheduled to run on startup. If so, uncheck it as well as any program you do not need to run at startup.
FYI - I've had this issue repeatedly with Adobe Acrobat Reader and finally switched over to Foxit Reader. It no longer happens for me. On my machine, seems like it was only the resource hungry programs would do that (Word, Excel and AAR) when it wouldn't complete the launch, for whatever reason.
The only (meager) solution I was able to come up with, was to repeatedly go into Task Manager and End Task the programs I knew I wasn't using.
I realize this isn't the exact answer you wanted, but it may be a start to piecing out the answer.

I thoroughly agree that faith is a man made company to get to God and that Christianity is extra about faith than about faith. there is one very imperative conception the position i'd disagree with you and that is your statement that "genuine/authentic goodness & replace comes from Jesus' teachings". this suggests that lets make ourselves sturdy by utilizing adhering to the instructions of Christ (till i'm false impression your statement right here). besides the undeniable fact that, Scripture teaches that we are useless in our transgressions, and that we'd want to be born-back to enter the dominion of heaven. this suggests that we are powerless to change into sturdy. this is much better than a replace in philosophies, this is a dramatic non secular adventure it is apprehended by utilizing faith, and followed by utilizing repentance. So even as I agree that authentic Christianity isn't a faith interior the experience that it is not "works-pushed" like countless different religions, yet a faith - even better than that, a courting with God actualized by utilizing walking interior the Spirit - i does no longer agree that this faith is defined by utilizing residing in accordance to Jesus' teachings. besides the undeniable fact that, if we walk interior the Spirit, we can by utilizing default be residing in accordance to his teachings provided that we are ruled by utilizing the regulation of Christ. only placed, Christianity is much better than subscribing to the instructions of Jesus Christ. this is bowing the knee to him as both Lord and Savior. Peace...
