I doubt it. I recall reading some old data in McLean's. They use to give statistics of single men to single women (i.e. not married or common law) For BC, Vancouver would come out practically 50/50. More Women towns were 1. Victoria, 2 Kelowna. More men towns were 1. Kitimat. There was a definite trend that towns with more single men were industry towns, remote towns and northern towns. Towns with more women were service towns like government towns, tourism towns and college towns.

The thing is, single people will go to where the jobs are. If there is job openings in remote industry towns they move there. Sure, families move too, but they don't change the numbers - towns with jobs that attract more of one sex than the other, tend to have more singles in that sex.

Now things may have changed a bit, but I doubt it has changed a lot. Are your friends from somewhere else? If from anywhere else in BC they probably had it easy. Welcome them to an even playing Field.

There is no magic city with a huge ratio of girls to guys. Vancouver is a nice city, but not for the reason you are hoping. Women in Vancouver tend to be shallow and materialistic, you would do better in Seattle.

True, a woman has so much to lose in a failed relationship, so they should be more careful to pick out a guy. A man can stay or leave, as he feels.
