Can i collect unemployment benifts?
I just quit my job in Kansas, I had put in a 2 week notice, and went to part time during the 2 weeks, my boss and i had a meeting and i agreed to come back, part time but at my management status. I returned to work Monday and he had hired a new person to take over the managers position. I called him ( he is out of state) and confronted him. He said "well I thought you wanted to quit" I remeinded him of our conversation and he just acted stupid..ummm ummm. So I told him fine I quit. Do not call my home... and hung up.
I worked there 10 years.
Even tho I agreed to return and he went ahead and replaced my position behind my back?

You should apply, they can only say no, right? And you should appeal when you get denied, too, because again, what do you have to lose? Lots of companies appeal as a matter of course.
EDIT: this sure is a thumbs-downie question. These people have obviously never collected unemployment from a job they quit. I have.

You quit your employment, you do not qualify for unemployment benefits.
Once you file for it, they will contact your previous employer. Because you don't have a written agreement with your employer about coming back part time, you can't prove that he laid you off.
It doesn't sound as if he would be the type of person to do the right thing and say that he laid you off, so your chances of receiving unemployment benefits are very small.

It happens, but it is rare that you can collect benefits from a job you quit unless you can prove that it was due to unsafe working conditions, or there is a sexual harassment suit pending . Sorry hon.

No, you can't collect.
You QUIT and when you quit a job it has to be for sexual harassment issues or something bad in order to collect.

You can file for benefits, paperwork will be sent to you place of former employment. If they don't fight it, then yes, if they do there will be an unemployment hearing. EDIT: for those on the "thumbs down", it is obvious you have no clue how unemployment works.
