I think your thinking of Vacancy but it's not about a haunted hotel room, the movie is about a couple who gets trapped in a hotel room by these guys who are filming 'smut' videos. Don't waste your time, the movie itself was OK but the ending was one of the worst I've seen.

I think you're talking about Vacancy with Luke Wilson. The room is not exactly haunted though....here's a quote from the dialogue and also a link to it's page on imdb.

1408 There are a lot of haunted hotel movies. Check out the Shining for a good haunted house movie
