In general, the Sunday day games (on Fox & CBS) have specific games selected as the national games (which they send who they think the top announcers to), one network has a doubleheader & the other shows one game. But then you have regional games. If your regional team is on the CBS slate (AFC games plus any interconference game where it's in the NFC stadium) and it plays at 4 (and it isn't blacked out) then thats the game they show. (So those in San Diego [if it's sold out] & Oakland see that game, not the NE/DAL game). And if the network that isn't carrying the local game also isn't the doubleheader network for that weekend, they will often choose to broadcast the single game to be one that isn't opposite the local game, even if it's a snoozer. And there's always the chance that the local affiliate will choose a different game because they think the local population will like it better.
Well, the answer for this specific game: If you live in San Diego and it's sold out, you are getting the Chargers/Raiders game (and need directTV for the other). If you live in Oakland, same. (Or anywhere else they think the fans would prefer that game, like in NFL-less LA). Since CBS has the doubleheader that week, then everyone that doesn't get the Raiders/Chargers game gets the Pats/Cowboys game. Those who want to switch back & forth between these games (regardless of where you live) must have DirectTV (though I suspect that blackout rules apply to DirectTV as well, so if the Chargers game doesn't sell out then those who live in that area don't get the game at all).

Unfortunately, yes you must have NFL Sunday Ticket to see the game. There are rules that "the man" invented to blackout certain games or broadcast others, all to ensure the most money for their local region.
What this means for this Sunday is that instead of showing the most anticipated game (Dallas-New England), the Bay Area is stuck with Oakland-San Diego.
Why oh why isn't Oakland playing the early game?
I guess you have to go to a sports bar and nurse a beer for three hours, all because the NFL owners and the TV Stations are in cahoots.
Please, Raiders..go back to LA so I am not forced to watch you AND the hopeless 49ers every blessed Sunday.

If you have Direct Tv you need to get NFL the Ticket to get all the games.

easily Chicago has a bar someplace which would be exhibiting each and all the NFL video games. in case you do no longer decide for to bypass to a bar then do a seek for Broncos followers in Chicago and notice if there's a huge group of Broncos followers who would be getting collectively for the video games. perchance you all can pitch in to purchase the Directv equipment and all of you keep some money.
