What is the best town in which I could retire?

I am single, mid 50's

I am an Orthodox Christian

I receive a monthly pension which allows me to live comfortably in modest circumstances, meaning areas which are economically challenged.

I will have a positive effect on the local economy and would rather live in a small town, even one which is considered a "poor" town.

My health insurance is portable virtually world wide.

I would be willing to relocate outside of the US.

How bt Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.

Kota Kinabalu is situated at the top of Borneo.

If you don't mind a 'summer' all yr long then this would be a good place to be at after retirement.

We have lots of retiries from Japan, Korea, UK, Sweden & other Euro country who are under the government scheme to migrate to Kota Kinabalu.

As u mentioned abt ur religion, almost 60% of the citizens in Sabah(Sabahan) are Christians and Good Friday is declared a Public Holiday, seeing that eventho we are an Islamic country. We have at least 10 churches within a radious of 3miles.

The ppl here are very friendly as we are so used to meeting with foreigners. You will have the chance to visit the beatiful islands and climb the highest mountain, Mount Kinabalu in Southeast Asia.

To know more abt Kota Kinabalu, please check on the link attached. Hope it helped.

P/S: I'm from Kota Kinabalu myself so I would deifnitely recommend this location.

In my opinion one of the most beautiful places on Earth is Bribie Island, Queensland Australia. It is a Island situated about an hours drive north of the city of Brisbane. It is connected to the main land by a bridge. The Island has the most beautiful beaches, and national parks. The lifestyle there is very relaxed and has lots of clubs and sporting organisations, a lot of them geared towards the retired community.

    Check out this website.

Don't forget that outside the US you will need to learn the language of the country you choose. How about Hawaii? It is supposed to be a beautiful place and many people would love to retire there. There are some very good areas in Mexico where americans go to retire too.

But my choice would be Hawaii...
