How do I back up my own xbox games if mine is already modded but DVD rom broken?

Question

From what I understand.. you need to FTP your xbox to your PC. Then copy the files that are on the xbox game to your PC while the game disc itself is loaded onto the xbox dvd rom?

What if my dvd rom is broken? Is there anyway I can just transfer the game file to the xbox hard drive using the FTP service? Please help.

Also.. if I were to swap out my dvd rom with a new one from another xbox.. will I need to do anything aside from physically swapping it?

If your DVD ROM is broken and you can't read the games with there, there isn't any point using FTP as you can't read the game to FTP with anyway!

If it's an Xbox 360, swapping in another DVD ROM isn't going to help.  Each DVD ROM drive has firmware on it for the Xbox 360 it is connected to, for games copyright protection.  You'll need Microsoft to replace the DVD ROM for you, but seeing as you have modded your Xbox this isn't likely to happen.

you haven't any longer something left to objective. Your container is achieved. you isn't waiting to deliver it returned considering you cracked the seal. That voids the guaranty. putting a fan on them additionally voids the guaranty. you are able to as properly flow out to wal mart, purchase a sparkling one, and stick the previous one in the recent container and take it returned. heavily. do no longer do this STUFF on your xbox. this is no longer clever in any respect. do no longer hear to human beings telling you there is something else you are able to attempt, there is no longer. this is a hardware situation.
