Is this buck normal?

Cool fact of nature. If a buck has an injury on the right side of his anatomy then the next years antler growth will be deformed on the opposite left side. It can of course be vice versa.

It's not a problem, it just happens. Up here every once in a while you'll see a moose with a standard moose rack (palm, tines, and paddle) on one side and what looks like a regular deer antler on the other. Fish & Game says it just happens.

Just another freak of nature more than likely. I've seen many such Non-Typical Bucks in my lifetime. Sometimes it's a matter of genetic deformity and other times it can be attributed to a poor diet lacking certain key trace minerals. I've also seen just the opposite,a HUGE 14 point rack on a Whitetail Buck that weighed all of 100 lbs......

earlier in his life he was probably shot on one side the antlers grow funny if they get shot and live

agree with jd on this answer, i have saw several of these in the past. sometimes this is caused by diet, and sometimes from an injury the previous year

It's just one of those cool genetic variations...I've seen similar configurations here in Florida.
