Croatia and Montenegro have all the things you are looking for, with the added plus of inexpensive seaside housing on the Adriatic Sea and a low cost of living.
I seriously doubt you'd find an Eastern Orthodox church in SE Asia or Latin America.

You may want to look at Oklahoma or Texas, living expenses are still below the nations average, weather is pretty nice, and there are plenty of VA hospitals around bases. And if you decide on Oklahoma and the Ok City area, give me a call for reliable help, I run a "Senior Care" company wich provides household help to seniors and disabled adults.

i spent a year in Alaska. i met a lot of retired military up there just having a blast. i was in Soldotna, but there are lots of other places along the coast line :)
also, Peru is a nice place to retire in, i have met several retired military people living down here, Lima, Peru, in South America. if you know Spanish its better, if not, you can get by, plenty of Peruvians know English in the Lima area.
here is a couple links for you, hope this helps :)
