well i think it depends on where u r coming from. i went from living 45 min away from nyc to clarksville tn so it was a huge change. i found it kinda boring.they have like 2 super walmarts on either side of base. people are in there all the time. they have one movie theater and there mall is super small. i did have a problem finding clothing that was stylish. the people in our apt complex were nice but outside of that the people werent really friendly. the military wives were kinda bitchy to me cause my x was a spc and they didnt want to hang out with me cause there man was a sgt.(i dont know if thats all miltary but i can only go based on my experiences) i by the way find that to be the stupidest thing i have ever heard of. the only kind of resturants there are fast food or ruby tuesay type of stuff. however i did like that it was peaceful and horses around the corner where i lived as i am not used to that. i went to nashville a few times and its just a 45min ride and had alot of fun there. i stayed at the grand ol opry hotel for a weekend for my anniv and it was beautiful. even if you dont stay there you have to go there and walk around. it is the most beutiful hotel i have ever seen. there is also a nice zoo in the area. good luck with your move. if you need more info let me know. we stayed in a nice apt complex called miller glen and its across from gate 1. i now live in my own place back in ny and sometimes miss tn but that might be cause i have memories of me and my x there.

I'm at Ft. Campbell right now. There is alot of construction going on for new housing. I would still recommend living off post unless you are an officer or they let you in the new housing. Housing is really affordable but the BAH is lower.
There is a few things to do but alot of the time you have to go to Nashville for entertainment. It is about 50 miles. I don't go into Kentucky often.
The public school system isn't that bad. My child is in kindergarten and I really like the school. Of course it depends where you live.
I believe Ft. Campbell has the biggest aviation units out of the Army. There are a lot of people here. Most people are pretty nice. Haven't met alot I didn't like.
You can also look up info. at www.onestop.army.mil. Good luck to you and if you need anymore info you can email me.

Was stationed at Campbell for a year and loved it. I lived in Clarksville.
It is pretty much like living anywhere, there are stores and shops and such both on and off post. You are about 50 miles from Nashville, home of the Grand Ole Opera (SP) and not real far from many other attractions. Campbell also has (at least did when i was there in 03) a very active MWR, that put on fairs and events. Again I liked it and would consider going back with or with out being sent by the Army.
I guess the question I should have asked you is where are you moving from?

I live here know, and go to the High School. Its a pretty nice place. And unless you are a high rank, you probably aren't going to get the huge $200,000 houses which they recently built.
