If they're the type that can be washed out with soap and warm water, you can let them dry and re-use them until they start falling apart. If you can't wash them and let them air dry, it's better to throw them out after you've used all available sides once - those things DO breed bacteria and could cause acne you wouldn't normally experience.

Throw out the sponges after one use - they are full of bacteria.
I use the poufy cloth applicator till the compact is empty, but I wash it with hot water and antibacterial soap about once a week and let it air dry. If you don't like that, you can buy packs of disposable foam powder applicators that you can just toss.
And remember, wash off every trace of makeup before bed so your pores don't get clogged.

nicely I used to bathe my sponges and brushes for each little thing with cleansing soap and water, yet that harms your brushes and makes them stay a shorter life. Then i desperate to get a broom air purifier, inclusive of a MAC, Sephora, or the only I even have, it quite is the Clinique makeup brush air purifier, you need to use that for the period of your sponges besides, all you do is you spray the sponge or the comb with it, and basically sparkling the brushes/ sponges in lower back and forth motions, like your portray, yet on a towel. For the Clinique one, you're able to bathe it off with water afterwards, because of the fact it is not stable on your pores and skin, however the MAC one does not prefer water for use. once you're carried out squeeze the get right of entry to water off and then enable the brushes air dry by potential of laying them flat on a floor, because you dont prefer the glue interior the brushes to loosen with the water that finally will circulate down on your brushes. It takes approximately 3-4 hours for brushes to dry thoroughly, or now and lower back much less. I sparkling mine each and every as quickly as a week, yet once you have very oily pores and skin, i prefer to propose in many cases occurring after paintings/ college, or in case you have time once you do your makeup desire this enables!!

I've heard to wash the sponges often, throw out after about a month.
Here's a website that may help you. Has the shelf/use life of lots of different make-up products.

I wash my makeup sponge every day and after a week, I throw it away and use a new one. As for the powder compact, when it looks really dirty, you can new ones at the Walgreens or any grocery store. I'm pretty sure CoverGirl sells them in a three pack.

for the sponges you can use them 2-4 times , depending on how quickly they fill with makeup.... once you cannot see anymore white on the sponge then toss it and get yourself a new one, i dont know where you got yours this time but you really dont need to spend a large amount of money on them, you can get packs of them at places like walmart, target, or sally's beauty supply..... as far as the powder puffs go, i would use a large makeup brush instead, they will deposit the makeup more evenly on your skin and you can wash them every week (if you use only on yourself) wash it with warm water and a small amount of shampoo, they also sell great brush cleaner at places like mac that is relatively cheap for the amount that you get.....

lol how do some people not know what you are talking about?
I'd say 1-4 months (I do about 4 months myself, but I don't wear makeup every day)
wash weekly with antibacterial soap or alcohol
don't discard after each use! What a waste!

Depends if you put makeup on everyday. I'm a stay at home mom so I don't put make up on everyday. I throw mine out every month, sometimes earlier depending on how much I use it. I don't put makeup on every day because your skin needs some time to air out so to speak.
