Hi, I think I would do the same as you. Don't make a big deal out of it and he will eventually stop on his own. Has he started school yet? A big event coming up like school can be a good way of talking to him about becoming a big boy, who goes to the toilet in the night as well as the day.

No drinks at least an hour before bedtime, toilet before bed and "lift" the child when you go to bed. Worked for my son after a couple of weeks. We also had a star chart going at the same time with a DVD as the reward, never looked back since! That was 3 years ago.... Good luck!

What I did with my daughter when she was 2 &1/2 was to make her go for a pee before I put her to bed, then when i went to my own bed a few hours later I got her up and took her to the toilet again to make sure her bladder was empty. After she did this pee I found that she slept right through the night without doing anymore.

Also incase you are worried about your son waking up and staying awake if you get him up - I found that not once has my daughter done this. Because she was still half asleep she went straight back to her bed without a fuss!

    It just takes time!

I am having trouble with my 4 year old (day & night so maybe some control issues there) but the advise from the paediatrician was to lift the child out of bed at 11.00ish - when you got to bed - make sure he is actually awake then put him on the toilet.

i did no longer discover ways to verify and write numbers and letters till first grade (6yo), which became into the conventional age the place i'm from (The Netherlands). till now then i might desire to sing the alphabet music and count quantity, yet i could no longer examine or write *something*. whilst i became into 19yo I have been given an IQ attempt and scored one hundred forty four, and as quickly as I took the SAT I have been given 720 on the verbal and 720 on the maths (and innovations you, English is my 0.33 language). i does not difficulty too plenty approximately it, your daughter will learn her ABCs and numbers in due time. Pushing little ones to benefit those issues at a youthful age won't cause them to hold out greater useful interior the long-term.

Stop ALL liquid intake 3 hours before bed time, make sure he has emptied his bladder before going to bed and then you won't have to worry about accidents anymore. Also, take privileges away everytime he has an accident - especially his favorite things.

I wouldn't worry. He doesn't have accidents during the day. Don't forget he's only four years old. We were worried about our eldest until we heard that it's common for kids to wet the bed until they're seven. They don't have any control when they're asleep, so I'd leave them to it. Don't sweat the little things.

take him to the toilet before he goes to bed.

then take him again before you go to bed (he will probably be half asleep at this point, but just carry him to the toilet, let him wee and put him back to bed). His bladder will then be empty and should then see the night through.
