Is it permissible to discuss Satanism on R&S?

It is a belief system of some, if marginal, importance in the religious life of the United States. It has at least one published Bible a copy of which I own (if I can find it) and have read bits of.

This is to protest the deletion of a question involving Satanism to which I provided some thoughts. Again, it is not the points, but I put time and serious thought (albeit sometimes silly thoughts too) into participating in R&S.

If the questioner pulled the question of his/her own free will, I have no quarrel with that. But otherwise pulling the question damaged the openness of this forum. Forcible deletion of questions, except in rare cases of clear threat, I find offensive!!

Update:

Diane: It is precisely the "heathen heretic" and "you are going to hell" answers that I DO NOT find offensive. It is the deletion of questions and answers that I find offensive.

Update 2:

Adara: Christianity gets preached here. I do not find it offensive, albeit sometimes a little boring.

Update 3:

Adara: And some have found Christianity evil.

Update 4:

PAULO: You are not fighting back. You are giving in.

Update 5:

son of God: It is apparently not just Yahoo I am wanting to reach, but also all users of R&S.

Update 6:

J. P. : Rolling with it and moving on, in this context, feel too much like giving in.

Update 7:

the great gazoo: It is precisely that things get pulled away way too easily that bothers me. And I think I will let it bother me :). But from what you say, it probably was the poster who pulled it.

Update 8:

Michael B: Pulling a question simply because it is name calling goes to far. Again, I am thinking about the answerer that might have put some serious thought into the answer.

if it is what you believe .... then you are entitled to discuss it here along with every other belief system

no one should be pulling questions simply because they dont like or dont believe in Satanism

in fact the more people discuss it the better...

because until I came to this forum I was totally unaware of what Satanism really was

we ALL need educated to different belief systems

then we can discuss things properly

  • I find it permissible. The whole point of the forum is to discuss religious and spiritual beliefs. Although I do not have any desire to participate in satanism, I don't think questions about it should be deleted. It all comes down to freedom of speech. You can't just have the speech you like and eliminate the rest.

I think the only questions that should be deleted are ones which threaten others and ones which are nothing more than name calling.

  • Of course it's permissible!

Were questions on Satanism deleted? That is offensive, if someone reported them. This isn't the Christianity section, it's the religion section, which means ANY religion can be discussed here, and it's open for everyone.

If it was deleted because someone reported it, it will say so. The message will read that the question was deleted either because it expired with no answers, or it violated the Y!A TOS.

Things get pulled way to easily here. It read a little differently if the poster pulled it or if customer care did. If it just said it was deleted, it was probably the poster.

I wouldn't let it bother you. Repost the question if you want and it will probably stay up. But there are questions about it that stay all the time.

Many questions regarding satanism have been asked and not been deleted. In R&S, questions often times get deleted just because people use the report button instead of simply choosing not to answer the question, and it doesn't matter who's doing the asking or who is taking the offense.

Roll with it and move on.

If its an intelligent question, this is not the place for it. ;) Really, people have a tendency to report questions simply because they find them offensive. If its not breaking any rules, or illegal, it should not be deleted, but I don't think the admins go through and check very carefully.

It's entirely possible to get a question deleted, just for posting it on R&S. The mentality of 'a few' people here can be highly questionable.

I used to think it was permissible to discuss anything here.

Then I started getting violation notices for the most petty of offenses (for example - I was violated for saying that "a smart atheist was an oxymoron" and that Muslims "enjoyed" car-bombings).

I am on my third account already and have woefully decided - if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. So now I report any post that insults Christianity - and believe me there are plenty of them.

I'm sorry but I must fight back.

Source(s): Darrol P - thanks for your comment. Sadly I'm afraid you're right. I may be giving in.

Fine by me if you wish to discuss it. This is open to all. I can't stop fearful fools from reporting you and having your posts deleted anymore than I can stop receiving violation notices for giving flippant answers to stupid questions from the same.

I don't see why not, the Christian population think that to pray

to satan can never achieve any thing-but we satanists have to listen to their dribble and rants, why not throw caution to the wind and see who out in cyberland is truly not for God or

    Christ.
