IBM Thinkpad help needed!!!?

Last night, I opened my laptop which had been in hibernation and everything appeared fine until I used an open IE page to go to my Yahoo home page. When I clicked on a video link on the homepage, my whole computer froze up. I had to shut it off manually and when I did it gave 3 beeps. I tried to turn it back on and nothing happened. I unplugged it, waited 10 minutes and used the blue Access IBM button to run Hardware Diagnostics. I walked away and when I came back, the screen was black and said A20 Hardware Error. I unplugged it again and tried it again and this time, it booted up and I logged into Windows but it froze while loading everything. Repeated everything again and this time I could log in and I ran a Virus Scan (Norton AV 2007) which found nothing. Live Update said I had all the updates. Spybot found a few of the usual things which it removed. I could completely move around my computer with no problems until I started to use IE again. Then it froze. **Continued*

Update:

I thought at first it was a hardware problem but since it doesn't freeze until I use my browser, I'm wondering if it's a virus but if so, why didn't Norton find anything? I'd SO appreciate any help I can get!! Thanks!

If the problem persists when you use IE ... then It could be IE that is causing the error ... try installing another browser like Mozilla Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/ , and see if the problem continues to exist or not.

If the problem continues, try to install fresh copy of Windows after formating your hard disk ... if this didn't fix it .. then I think it's a hardware issue.

Well sorry to say this but Norton is junk. But at any rate, are u at least using internet explorer 7?? Its the latest version, and you want to make sure u are using it. You can download the update of Yahoo, or microsoft.com, and since u cant get online u need to use another computer and save the file to a disk, and then run it on ur computer. If u are already using IE7, then you might be screwed. An A20 hardware error means that there is an error with ur keyboard, or the keyboard controller inside ur mother board. The key step into resolving this issue is to unplug ur key board, yes i know this is a problem 4 u since u have a laptop. So u might have to take it to someone who know computers.

And I truly dont know why ur PC only freezes when u open up a browser, it might however relate to the amount of memory ur laptop is using. But u shud take it to someone.

I definitely have been with XP the month it has got here out. possibly this concern is with the help of between the Updates. have you ever tried to restart it in SafeMode? If no, restart your computing gadget, restart into SAFEMODE and choose final wide-unfold stable CONFIG and restart it. Shutdown your computer for 5 minutes, UNPLUG IT from Outlet. Then restart, your themes might desire to be cleared up. If no longer bypass into what's called "device fix" and p.c.. a date suitable till now this began. (You wont lose a lot for updates) DID the shutdown and unplug and restart. Sorry yet i'm undecided can the above operation can sparkling up your situation. yet as quickly as you fixed it, i choose to propose you to backup computing gadget in lots of cases. no longer all backup takes distinct disk area. Use Time commute to backup device in decrease than 5 seconds, or perhaps your computing gadget crashed, you won't be in a position to get admission to computing gadget, the booting menu nevertheless shall we you fix device from there.
