Are there still companies who pay college tuition in exchange for service?

Does anyone know of any places that need employees to the point that they will pay at least a good part of tuition in exchange for a commitment to the company afterward?

Update:

Also - I did have a friend a while back who got a lot (if not all) of her law school paid for in exchange for a commitment to work in that state.

They usually don't pay for you to go to school on the promise you will work for them later. You generally have to be an employee for a set period of time before you are eligible for educational benefits. For ex. American Electric Power paid over $5000/yr in educational benefits after you had been there for a year or so, but you had to be a full time employee. One other utility I knew of in the 90's paid 75% of your tuition for Masters, but you had to maintain a B average.

The military used to have great educational benefits! Check them out.

Good luck..... and hope you get lots and lots of good ideas. There is nothing more valuable than a great education.

There are companies who offer tuition reimbursement for persons enrolled in classes/major which will benefit the said company. However, you generally have to pay for classes first and then show that you completed the course with a satisfactory grade.
