Why do people tend to care so much about celebrities?

I guess people care so much is because everybody knows their name. Celebrities are like the popular kids in the school.

Celebrities' lives are like stories or TV shows, almost, I guess. Things keep happening, and there's always conflicts and action and happy/sad endings. A certain TV show keeps you watching every week, because you want to know what happens next. They're also names that people know, and it's a topic when having a conversation.

Personally, I do care about what happens, and if I see an interesting magazine I'll buy it every once in a while. Sometimes it makes me feel better about my life, if I'm in a bad mood. A lot of stuff in magazines is just gossip, and to a lot of people gossip is something they must know about.

idk, i think sometimes people like to get lost in other peoples lives and take a break from their own. personaly when i read some of these things, i think man, my lifes not even that bad, i am not as screwed up as i thought i was. i am not a big fan of being so into someones life, i think people deserve privacy, but also i don't want to watch about the war all day, sometimes it's nice to turn on the E channel and here about all teh messed up people.

+i tel my friends I easily have a wide weigh down on Jeniffer Hudson, in them weightloss plan commercial ls, they in basic terms giggle at me and say owe my god have you ever considered her in that gruesome white gown, attempting too sing she feels like a previous sick cow and those wobbly legs of hers, and her rear end lo ks like the back end of a greyhound bus, and they giggle at her shes so fat in that gruesome white gown, dropping weight, yet no longer with her.

I don't think people actually 'care' about celebs. I think it's interesting to read about celebs and what they do, but it's not like I really 'care', because logically, I don't know them.
