Getting pregnant after a D and C with no period? Please answer if it has happened to you!?

I had a D and C on Sept. 6th. My doctor said it could take up to 6 to 8 weeks for me to have my period. I am wondering if it is possible to conceive before my period starts? I never asked my doctor. Has this happened to anyone? Thanks!

Update:

This isn't my first miscarriage. I had one in late Feb. of this year, but I passed it on my own.

    yes its happened to me before i got pregnant probably 2 weeks after the d&c, even though we werent supposed to have sex for a few weeks. i later found out that its very easy to get pregnant after those, and easy to get infections so be careful. but after the d&c i was put back on birth control and my period came pretty quick after that just like usual.

    i haven't never had a d&c before but i have gotten pregnant while i wasnt haveing a period i hadent had one for 8 months when i had found out that i was pregnant (i was only 6 weeks when i found out).and that has been 2 years ago.

    Yes, hun you can. I am sorry you had to have a D and C. Mine was painfull for many reasons.
