Type 2 Diabetes and stillborn births?
I would just like to hear from anyone who has been pregnant or knows someone who was with Type 2 Diabetes and the baby made it through the birth. This really isn't a question I'm just looking for some reassurance and the reason for asking is because when I went to the Dr. yesterday she said she wasn't trying to scare me but since I have Diabetes that I still have a higher risk for having a stillborn. So I would just like to hear some positive stories. Thanks in advance!!!
I have had Diabetes already for 3 years now. It is not pregnancy related.

Hi my mom has diabetes which they did not detect until her first pregnancy I am sorry to say that she had a stillborn at six months, but you also need to realize that was almost 25 years ago. She went on to have me and my brother 22 and 14. She was with the doctors a lot and had to take shots of insulin with both of us but doctors know so much more today then they did 25 years ago. Just think positive and know that she wasn't trying to scare you just let you in on a little bit of information. Also if you are taking insulin you might be induced a month to two weeks early because the insulin does make the babies a little larger. I was a month early and weighed 7lbs 6 oz and my brother was three weeks early and weighed 9lbs 8oz.
Good luck and I am sure everything will be fine with your baby.

I have never heard such a thing. My mother-in-law has 2 kids and they were all fine. They are 48, 44 & 40 now and none of them has diabeties. The only thing different about them is that they were very large babies at birth.
Just keep yourself healthy. All will be OK.
Good luck and God Bless.
