What colors should I paint my house's trim and door?

I finally found the perfect color to match my roof shingles and now I could use some suggestions for the house's trim and door. The house will be painted a color in the yellow family, it's called weak tea. It looks just like it sounds, the color of weak tea wtih milk in it. I was thinking of white trim, but wasn't sure if that is too stark. Would an off-white or cream be better? For the door I was thinking of magenta or a reddish cinnamon color. I want it to look like a nice accent and not call attention to itself in bad way.

Update:

The roof shingles are various shades of brown from dark brown to light tan.

I like your ideas for the trim and the door. For the trim, check out Sherwin Williams' "napery." It's a cream also in the yellow family, so it sounds like it will coordinate with the house color. For the door, take a look at "cordial." I think it will be beautiful.

    Good luck!

what color are the shingles on your roof? if they are a warm color i would stick with the reddish door and white trim. if the shingles are a greyish color i would do a navy blue or cobalt blue door with white trim. the latter reminds me of a beach cottage look.

I like the idea of the cream with the darker color and the cinnamon red for the door.

Many paint manufacturers have web sites that offer the opportunity to play with the house and trim colors. Check out:

A red front door is very good Feng Shui!

I like the idea of the cream color, it will not be as stark. Perhaps paint a small area then step back and look.

Your front door should be red...and I would stick to a warm, brown/rust for the trim- whites or cream will look washed out before you know it

It would look great with the reddish cinnamon color. Are you going to have to door done too? I am planning to do mine that color too.
