1 AnswerOther - United States1 decade agoAm I liable for my adult children on auto policy?
I am shopping around for auto insurance and I was told by one insurer
that because my 18 and 19 year old kids are students, I am liable if they have any accidents even though the kids have their cars titled in their names and have their own auto insurance policies. She told me that this is true until they are 23. Is this true? It doesn't make any sense to me.
7 AnswersInsurance1 decade agoAnyone have a sugar free whole wheat bread recipe?
I need a recipe for the breadmaker that uses only whole grain flour and no sugar or sugar substitutes. I guess it would have to have some kind of fruit or fruit juice in it so the yeast could work. Anyone have a recipe? Thanks!
3 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoFlying for first time in winter, what do I do with my coat?
I have a carry-on bag and handbag. Will they let me take my heavy (bulky) winter jacket on the plane too? I'm flying to NJ on Continental.
16 AnswersPacking & Preparation1 decade agoHow do you measure a carry-on bag?
I'll be flying on Continental. Do I have to include the handle and wheels in the measurement? We're allowed only 45 linear inches and if I add the wheels and handles our bags are 46 and 47 inches.

3 AnswersDrama1 decade agoDoes anyone know a good website I can use to identify a butterfly cocoon?
We found a butterfly cocoon today and my field guides don't have cocoons, only butterflies. Does anyone know where I can find photos of cocoons on the internet? There isn't much on Wikipedia.
1 AnswerBiology1 decade agoWhat colors should I paint my house's trim and door?
I finally found the perfect color to match my roof shingles and now I could use some suggestions for the house's trim and door. The house will be painted a color in the yellow family, it's called weak tea. It looks just like it sounds, the color of weak tea wtih milk in it. I was thinking of white trim, but wasn't sure if that is too stark. Would an off-white or cream be better? For the door I was thinking of magenta or a reddish cinnamon color. I want it to look like a nice accent and not call attention to itself in bad way.

I have a recipe that calls for chili sauce, but I don't have any in the house. Can I add some ingredients that will make either mild or medium salsa a good substitute?
5 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhy is the dog's head missing in Portrait of Yvonne Duchamp-Villon by Marcel Duchamp?
I was in the Ringling Museum a few weeks ago and saw this painting. I wondered why the painting looked finished except for the dog's head. Is there a meaning to it? Was it done purposely?
4 AnswersPainting1 decade agoWhy would a doctor give dexamethasone for a sore throat?
My husband took our 14 year old daughter to the ER Friday night because of a sore throat. It was red, tonsils slightly swollen and a 102 fever. She was given dexamethasone, a prescription for antibiotics and a throat culture (neg. for strep).
I was home with our other kids or I would have questioned the steroid. Is this a normal thing to give a kid for a sore throat with no asthma or difficulty breathing?
10 AnswersInfectious Diseases1 decade agoShould I have tipped my mechanic?
I had a minor problem with my car and took it to the dealership this morning. It turned out to be even more minor than I thought and required only a little lubrication on the parking brake. It took about five minutes. I asked the cashier if there was a charge and he said no but you can tip the mechanic. So I looked at the mechanic and he shook his head and waved me off. I thought the cashier was kidding. I never heard of tipping a mechanic, so I just thanked them and left. I thought the dealerships paid mechanics well. Should I have given him a tip and if so how much?
3 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoIs there anything I can do about a neighbor's barking dog?
It barks for 30-60 mins. at a time, at midnight, at 7 a.m. I can't get a full night's sleep anymore. The barking is very loud and I have my windows closed, air conditioning and ceiling fan on. I would approach the neighbors, but they are not friendly. When they first moved in 6 months ago, I would wave, smile and say hi. They ignored me. So I don't feel like I can talk to them about this. I have called the police about 5 times, but it's obviously not an emergency, so by the time they get here the barking has usually stopped. Any ideas?
