it's terrible. it hurts all the time. some days are worse than others... and sometimes it goes into remission. go to webmd and look it up... lots of good info.

Any chronic illness can cause mental health problems, There may be more to this than your friend is telling you, or even how much she knows herself. Your friend's mum may just not love her husband any more, simple as that. You just don't know what goes on behind closed doors. Benzodiazepines aren't used for depression any more, they are used for very short term anxiety and/or alcohol withdrawal (2 weeks maximum usually) and even then only as a last resort.

As you probably already know, fibromyalgia is not yet completely understood. I have many patients with this and they get quite a bit of relief from chiropractic adjustments and massage therapy combined. In addition to that, I have a few patients who have also added a very light excersise program that actually helps them feel better.

Surprisingly, Cymbalta has really helped with my pain.
Pain relievers never helped. I thought my doc was nuts for prescribing anti-depressants, but I'm not complaining because I feel soooo much better these days.

i've had it for 11 years...tried all kinds of things (of course everyone has to find what works best for them). i use the pool for gentle excersise, eleval at night and skalaxin for shooting pain. it hasn't been as bad as it was the first 6 years though...hang tough
