Where Did The Trinity Come From ?
The three monotheistic religions - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam - all
purport to share one fundamental concept: belief in God as the Supreme
Being, the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. Known as "tawhid" in
Islam, this concept of the Oneness of God was stressed by Moses in a
Biblical passage known as the "Shema," or the Jewish creed of faith:
"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord." (Deuteronomy 6:4)
It was repeated word-for-word approximately 1500 years later by Jesus
when he said: "...The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; the
Lord our God is one Lord." (Mark 12:29)
«"Muhammad came along approximately 600 years later, bringing the same message again: "And your God is One God: There is no God but He, ..."» (The Qur'an 2:163)
Christianity has digressed from the concept of the Oneness of God,
however, into a vague and mysterious doctrine that was formulated during the fourth century

It's all pagan- The SUN, The Moon and Mother Earth.
The freemasonic 'God' is also a bizarre trinity:
Jah-Bul-On; Jah for Jehovah, Bul for Baal (a recognised demon), and On or Osiris (Egyption god of death/the underworld).

"Trinity" is everwhere because it is the number of things that comprise of a relationship.
For example, the world comes into existence due to three things: (1) the world itself or sense objects; (2) sense organs, such as the eyes and ears; (3) consciousness or mind.
An embryo exists due to three things: (1) sperm; (2) ovam; (3) womb.
A marriage exists due to three things: (1) man; (2) woman; (3) love.
Similarly, a divine relationship happens due to three things: (1) the practitioner or "the son"; (2) the goal , the truth or God; (3) the method, way or means to the goal, truth or God, which is the Holy Spirit.
As Jesus said: "Bless are the pure in spirit, for they shall see God". There are three things here: (1) the blessed person; (2) the purity of spirit or clarity of mind; (3) God.
When one knows how to continually maintain a pure mind, the spirit, which is the breathe and consciousness manifesting together, this practice or skill will take the mind to spiritual heights and inner wisdom.
This is mysticism. This is not religion for the masses. This is why all esoteric spiritual practices use breathing meditation as a foundation practice. The relationship between consciousness and the breathe is profound and subtle. However, the mind must be pure to understand. No striving. Just clear awake surrender.
The English word "spirit" comes from the Latin "spiritus" ("breath").
And oops! I forgot. The Christain religion is also about love. Love, love, love. Trinity is relationship going in all directions. It is not just one way traffic with mindless and blind worship to some almightly God.
Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Father loves the Son, just as the Son loves the Father. And love is the Holy Spirit. How can you love if you do not have a Holy Spirit, a beautiful, kind, lovely, gentle, intimate, joyful and clear heart and mind?
Christianity emphasises that God is a friend and loves human beings. In other words, the human being or the "Son" is given equal respect.
Your words: "And your God is One God: There is no God but He" are merely words of authority, words of domineering, words of mere lip service.
Have some Joy! friend. Lighten your heart! Find the Love!
Stop sounding like a dictator.

The beauty of the heart, is the lasting beauty:
Its lips give to drink of the water of life.
Truly it is the water, that which pours, and the one who drinks.
All three become one when your dogma is shattered.
That oneness you can't know by reasoning.

I'm not entirely sure were this came from although through my research the belief in a triune God was a Celtic belief. Thus I would think that it came from Ireland and passed down through the Catholic religion. (this is only a theory not a fact).
Matt. 4:10 "Thou shall worship the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serve."
Matt 7:21 "Not everyone that saith to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven." (Note: Jesus not ONLY said to do the will of HIS father but He said where his father was at that moment...in heaven.)
To believe in a triune God is to believe that God is schizophrenic in some way. It just doesn't make sense to me biblically, spiritually or theologically.
I could go on all day, there are many, many places in the bible that show of a separation and only a few that could be interpreted as being one being, however those few could also be interpreted differently so I choose to believe in one God and that God is one.
**EDIT There are those Christians like Brian that will quote John 1:1-3 that Jesus was the word, the word was with God and the word was God. Doesn't anyone see the word WAS there? WAS not is!!
We are made in the image of God, in the same way, my son was part of my body before he was born, and now he is his own being. So, Jesus WAS a part of God and now He is not.
Blessings!!
PS. Brian I reject the concept of the Trinity and I AM a Christian.

The word "Trinity" is not found in the Bible, however it is a theological word which describes the belief that there is one God which consists of three persons - all equal in power and glory. There is a number of verses from the Old Testament which suggest the trinity, but my space is limited so I will stay with the New Testament verses.
Jesus is God, found In the New Testament.
John 1:1-3—“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him....” Jesus Christ existed with God prior to creation.
John 8:58—“Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.. Jesus certainly did mean He is God - because the Jews wanted to stone Him for claiming to be God. 59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Note: This is pointing back to Moses and the burning bush were Moses asks God for His name and he says “I AM”.
Matt 14:27, Mark 6:50; 13:6; 14:62; Luke 21:8; 22:70; John 4:26; 6:20; 8:24,28; 13:13,19; 18:5,6,8 ("I am He" is written in some translations which the translators added the word ‘he’.
John 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him (Jesus), My LORD and my God.
Revelation 1:8—“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty” (cf. Rev. 22:13).
Hebrews 1:3—“[Jesus Christ is] upholding all things by the word of his power.”
Colossians 1
15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Matthew 12:25, Matthew 27:18, Luke 6:8 —“Jesus knew their thoughts.”
Revelation 2
23 . … I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Hebrews 13:8—“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever”.
Worshipping Jesus
Revelation 5:8
And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.
We read about the Holy Spirit in a number of verses, here is one.
Acts 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
The doctrine of the Trinity has been a Christian doctrine from the beginning of the New Testament until now. It is a central doctrine and those that reject it, reject the Christian faith.

Christians are baptized "in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." They are not baptized "in the names" of the Father, Son and Spirit because there is only one God, the Most Holy Trinity. The baptismal confession of faith has three parts because "the faith of all Christians rests on the Trinity" (St. Caesarilus of Arles).
The Central Mystery
The Trinity is the central mystery of Christian life, the source of all the other mysteries, and the most fundamental mystery in "the hierarchy of the truths of faith." The whole history of salvation is identical with the way God revealed himself as Father, Son and Spirit. The Trinity is a mystery which would not be known unless revealed. The mystery is inaccessible both to reason alone and to Israel before the sending of Jesus and the sending of the Holy Spirit.
Root of Faith
The Trinity has always been the very root of the Church's faith (expressed in the baptismal liturgy). Paul summarized this apostolic faith in saying "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you" (2 Cor 13:13).
Three Important Terms
In the early Ecumenical Councils, the Church clarified its understanding of the Trinity in order to respond to heresies. The Church developed three important terms:
1. Substance, (also called essence or nature) which designates the divine being in its unity
2. Person, which designates the Father, Son and Spirit in the real distinction among them
3. Relation, which designates that their distinction lies in the relationship of each to the others
One God
The Trinity is one. The Church does not believe in three Gods but in one God in three persons (the "consubstantial Trinity)." The divine persons do not share the one divinity among themselves. Each of them is God, whole and entire. "Each of the persons is that supreme reality, namely, the divine substance, essence or nature" (Fourth Lateran Council).
Distinct Persons
Father, Son and Spirit are not just three names for three modalities of the one God. They are really distinct from one another in their relations of origin. "It is the Father who generates, the Son who is begotten and the Holy Spirit who proceeds" (Fourth Lateran Council).
Based on Relationships
The real distinction of each Person lies in their relationship to one another. "In the relational names of the persons, the Father is related to the Son, the Son to the Father and the Spirit to both"(Eleventh Council of Toledo). The Father is wholly in the Son and in the Spirit. The Son is wholly in the Father and the Spirit. The Spirit is wholly in the Father and the Son (Council of Florence).
"I entrust to you today the profession of faith in the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Each person considered in himself is entirely God" (St. Gregory of Nazeanzus).

All I know is trinity is what Christians called to the God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

It comes from the bible, if you believe that? If you do than you must read, there was another question just posted about Jesus and salvation. If Christ is our salvation than surely He is God in the flesh, I Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. Right there it shows God manifested Himself into a bodily flesh, which was Jesus Christ. But there is so much more scripture to prove it, but you first have to believe the bible and you have to not be so stubborn.

really mysterious indeed. if god was man-made, he would be a duality for sure. maybe he was created by some forgotten race with three sexes?

Trinity is a goofy idea to try and explain someone's weird idea about Jesus.
I also think it was a trick to try and get pagans to like christianity.
