How can I dye my dirty blonde hair black temporarily?
Okay, I've decided to be Goth for Halloween and would like to temporarily dye my dirty blonde hair to black. I am attending a party on Saturday and throwing a party on Sunday plus dressing up for Halloween and I do not want to use hair color spray -especially since I would have to use many cans due to my hair length goes to my mid back. I checked out 28 wash hair color but it says not recommended for dirty blondes. I don't mind it staying in for a while just not permanent.
Please reply if you know exactly how to do this without damaging my hair which took me a long time to grow and will be cut off once summer arrives for Locks of Love. Plus I work in a office setting.

It depends on the brand of hair dye. You can get dyes that last an even shorter time, but with any of them you are liable to have your hair remaining darker for a noticeable period.
Another thing to note is that some black dyes are a brown-black, so they fade through relatively natural colours. Others are a blue-black, which gives a more solid black colour generally, but can fade through less natural shades. The brown-black dyes would at least fade through colours which are more suitable in a work environment.
Hair colour spray is least likely to stain your hair, but as well as the cost for the spray, it has a tendency to rub off on furniture and clothes, particularly if you have long hair, so I wouldn't recommend it.
Another thing to note is that if you decide you want to try bleaching your hair back to more your natural colour, some dyes can end up a funny colour, so you'd definitely need to test it with a section of hair that you could then cut off if it goes green (as many do).

You SHOULD use "Roux Fanciful" temporary color- it washes out right away- it's a silver and pink bottle you can get it a Walmart. After you wash your hair you put it on your hair then style as usual. It has the consistency of kool-aid but it is process free, takes a minute to do and will not damage or stain your hair, it will stain your clothes, however. It also comes in mouse, but I can't find it where live except for at Sallys.

I have never had success straying so many shades from you natural color. And as I am sure you know, hair to locks of love they ask that it not be chemically treated at all- that sometimes also means temporary color. I would suggest doing streaks using mascara type product. You could use multiple colors, not just black as well.

Use a level 2 hair dye. Ex. Nice n Easy....It will wash out after a couple weeks. Or just save your hair and buy a wig..

I did this for my daughter last year and she's dirty blonde like me.
you need semi-permanent colors, start with a dark blonde, then, dry. then use a medium ash brown, and then go to a darker auburn brown. this will be creating a base including the reds and ash tones you'll need because if a blonde goes black without these steps it'll turn greenish gray, ick. After your hair is dark brown then go black.
can't go wrong. but it costs more.

you could use spray color which u can buy at like party city. it washes out when you take a shower. but it might take you two washes because it is a drastic change in color.

The simplest way is to get a wig.
Seriously. A really good one will be expensive, but for halloween purposes, it should be pretty affordable.
