  • Does anyone have any recipe suggestions or food ideas for a truck driver?

My husband is going OTR for about a month and I realize I can't pack him enough food for that amount of time but to save us some money I would like to pack him enough for 1-2 weeks of breakfast and/or lunches. He is taking a small cooler and a lunchbox stove. Any easy recipes or breakfast/lunch ideas would be helpful.

  • 10 Year Wedding Anniversary Ideas?

Yes, I realize this question has been asked before and I did read a few of them but here is my situation: today is our 10 year anniversary and my husband isn't feeling well, we were going to go away for a night but those plans got shot. So, I need a romantic idea (other than dinner) or a gift idea. Please don't say trip to Hawaii - can't afford or give him a girlfriend - serious answers please. I've got 45 minutes during lunch to get a gift or make plans. and yes I realize I waited until the last minute but again we had plans to go away and they had to be cancelled so that was the original gift... And by the way I live in RI if that helps any.

  • We were asked to write a letter to help stop the closing of our community elementary school - any suggestions?

When the news of closing John Wickes Elementary School was brought to my attention I was upset, upset that my child is going to lose out because of dollars and cents.

    Please consider these questions:

    1. If John Wickes is closed and students are divided among other schools than will the larger class size cause students to lose out on the personal attention that they would receive in a smaller class?

    2. With this increase in the other schools will there be less motivation by staff and students and less parental involvement?

    3. Studies show students academic progress decreases when students are removed from a stable environment – will this happen to the students who have been enrolling at John Wickes year after year?

My only concern as a parent is to my daughter’s education and the staff at John Wickes has shown me that they too put education first. The principal, teachers, and volunteers at John Wickes continue to play an important role in the education of the children of the Greenwood Community and to close down this school would show the little concern the city has on the disruption it will cause for the families who continue to send their children to John Wickes.

  • Would like your thoughts on this?

My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary soon. Our first wedding was planned in a rush to make my mother-in-law happy - we were going to wait to get married but we were having a baby and she wanted it done before the baby was born. So in 3 months we planned a small (12 people) wedding with justice of peace and no cake. Now that our 10 year is upon us we would like to renew our vows in front of ALL our family and friends but don't have the money due to house repairs and husband being temporarily out of work. Would it be too tacky if we charged them $20 a head? - please keep in mind we would specify no gifts or money on invitations - we just want to renew our love in front of those we love...

  • Another Wiccan Question?

I've been trying to learn about Wicca and have been given a book for teenagers (I'm 33) by my brothers girl friend who practices, she said this book puts it in simple terms. Are there any other books you recommend to read or even websites to visit? My interests are purely personal and spiritual.

  • Girl Scouts won't listen - need help...?

I have a troop of 7 girls whose ages range from 8 to 10. They enjoy the activities I set up and the meetings but they don't listen when trying to explain an activity or inform them of what is going on during a meeting. My co-leader and I have sat them down and talked with them about this chit chat and not listening cause it causes delays in getting things done but the day we did this towards the end of the meeting they were back to their talkative old selves. Anyone got any ideas on how to keep them quiet while we are trying to explain things?

  • How to handle a parent that dwells on issues?

I have a girl scout troop where all the girls go to the same school but 1. And that 1 told her mom it wasn't fair that she wasn't invited to a b-day party (that some of the girls were invited to during school time), wasn't invited in our wishing circle, and wasn't invited to lunch after an event. Okay my problem is we resolved the first 2 but the mother is still complaining about the 3rd where I brought 2 girls home and we happened to go to BKing since they were friend of my daughters and now this mom is telling me I should of invited her daughter - mind you I paid for the other 2 girls out of my pocket and they are my daughters close friends. How do I handle this mom who won't let this issue go?

  • Paying a credit card with a credit card?

I have a credit card with 9% interest rate that has no balance and I want to pay off a store card since it has a higher rate but I was told by the credit card company that I can no longer use the transfer feature. Can I still use the 9% card to pay off the store card and still get the 9%? or would the credit card company know it is a transfer when I pay off the store card with it and change the rate - can they do this?

  • How can I dye my dirty blonde hair black temporarily?

Okay, I've decided to be Goth for Halloween and would like to temporarily dye my dirty blonde hair to black. I am attending a party on Saturday and throwing a party on Sunday plus dressing up for Halloween and I do not want to use hair color spray -especially since I would have to use many cans due to my hair length goes to my mid back. I checked out 28 wash hair color but it says not recommended for dirty blondes. I don't mind it staying in for a while just not permanent.

Please reply if you know exactly how to do this without damaging my hair which took me a long time to grow and will be cut off once summer arrives for Locks of Love. Plus I work in a office setting.
