Do you think Yahoo! Answers should add an "edit" to people who have edited their answers?

I constantly find people cheating. For example, when questions are asking "What is this from? First right answer gets 10 points." The first person gets it wrong, then after about 2 minutes, they change it... No one can tell they edited it, but they have. I think Yahoo! Answers need to show that the answers were edited. Maybe this is a very lousy idea, but perhaps it could be put to good use?

WOW that is the best idea i've heard in a while here at YA. YES--let's suggest that.......going now to look up how........but won't come back and edit my answer to include how!!! LOL :)

I use edit all the time because I catch a mispelled word or I left something out that would explain my answer better so it wouldn't bother me to have my edit show. If people are cheating and using other people's answers, then yes, bring on the EDIT!!

Sometimes I mispell something and a person wouldn't know if I edited because of mispelling or because of cheating. Maybe if a certain percentage of the answer has been changed, they could put that it has been edited..such as 20% or 25% of the answer. That would not be hard to do. I'd be all for it.

Absolutely. The same should apply to the questions also.

It should give the date & time of the last edit and the total number of times it has been edited.

It's a good idea. I like the edit feature but wouldn't mind if it was shown it had been edited.

Yes they should.... If I edit something it is just to add a thought, or correct spelling if I forgot to hit spell check.... I usually write Edit: if I add something to what I've already said....

Yes, so we know whether that was their first answer.

I didn't know we could edit our answer. That's not fair.

I never edited mine. So yes, there should have an "edit" to their answer if it was edited. I don't like cheaters.

Btw,thanx for ur answer to my question. It was quite inspiring!

Yes, it might help; however, I often write an answer and then a minute later think of something else to add to it (I do not change it, but add to it).

It might be a good idea, but usually if i edit my answer it is because of a spelling error or a word is misplaced....

I wasnt aware we could edit our answers, but if so then you bring up a good point.
