Depo Provera Injection - You only get it 4 times a year and most women do not even have a period.

There is no best birth control and depo is not a good option as the side effects can be very very nasty causing you to have non stop bleeding or make you so ill you can't function. Also when you stop depo it can take up to a year or more to get back to normal. Consider the patch or the nuva ring or using Seasonique where you only have 4 periods a year. The pill is not so bad to remember if you just do it first thing in the morning when you shower. Print a great big note and stick it some place where you will see it. You can make it funny and in code if you don't want anyone to know what it means.

The only birth control methods that will regulate your period are pills, IUD's, the vaginal ring and the patch. IUD's are implanted inside you by your doctor and last 5 years, but they are not very predictable and it's hard to know what will happen with your period once you have it inserted. The ring and patch are both pretty easy to use, you just have to change them once per week. Check with your doctor about those options. There are, of course, many other types of birth control, but these are not known to regulate your period. Read about all these methods at www.plannedparenthood.org.

DO NOT GET DEPO!
It is far from the "best". Many women have horrible health issues with depo provera.
I'm on a pill called Kariva. You could set your cell phone calendar to go off at a certain time every day, or your alarm clock on your phone, or have a Yahoo reminder sent to your phone, or set your watch. I'm horrible with forgetting, but setting my cell phone calendar helps me out a LOT!

The Depo shot is "the best" but it is EXTREMELY harsh on your body. If you can DO NOT GET THE SHOT.
I gained 15lbs from it and became depressed... try Nuvaring!
