Hot shooting knee pain?
i was playing basketball yesterday when i went up for a layup, got fouled, and came down hard. i landed on my foot the wrong way and now my knee hurts like hell. i had a hot shooting pain from the middle of my knee directly to my kneecap and it lasted for a good two minutes. this has happen a couple of times before, only lasting a few seconds and no pain or discomfort afterwards. this is 24 hours later and i cannot put any pressure on my knee when it is bent (squating, lunging, etc.) and laying in bed with it straight has a tingly feeling. can someone tell me what this might be? thanks so much!

you could have torn your acl, maybe just a ligament or maybe you have some fluid from the previous knee injuries built up. either way i'd schedule and appt with your family doctor asap and if the pain is so unbearable go to the local E.R. and maybe they will call in an orthepedic surgeon to check this out and diagnos you. hope you better. ive had a torn acl for 3 years that i refuse to be operated on. i just get cotizone shots monthly to help ease the swelling and pain. best of luck to you!

you tore or crushed something and it is hitting the nerve. you need to get an ex ray. i have bursitis and tendonitis and fibromyalgia and i know that feeling- and an axed dance career. better go. don't wait.
