Funky Pirate in New Orleans?

Has anyone been there? Do they have a menu for dinner or do they just serve beverages? If they don't serve dinner where is a good place to eat dinner and enjoy a jazz or blue show?

I have been there love the Hand Grenades a NO must! Just be careful they pack a punch. They play all kinds of music at the Funky Pirate so sometimes they do have blues it just depends on what is scheduled that day. I haven't been there in about 2 years I don't remember them having any food. Just drinks and music. The Funky Pirate is also owned by the same people who own Tropical Isle so you can get hand grenades there too. They also have live music so you might be able to find jazz at one of those.

As for places for dinner I recommend the Gumbo Shop. They have more than that wonderful food, great place sit indoors or out. The service here was awesome! It is not located on Bourbon but it is very close. If you are looking for something more upscale you might be interested in Emerills restaurant. It is expensive but well worth it. Service is top notch and the food is amazing. You will want to make sure that if you go here you get dressed up. There is also this awesome diner on Bourbon that is open 24 hours cash only best food after you have been drinking. Wonderful classic dinner food. I might also suggest trying a Lucky Dog while you are down there. Cheap and awesome. Another great place to eat but again very expensive and dressy is Antoine's been there since the 1800's one of the oldest restaurants in NO. Very nice place wonderful food! The Court of Two Sisters is also another great place, casual and on Sundays they have a very nice Jazz Brunch. Well worth checking out anytime. Great food and good service. You might also be interested in taking a dinner/jazz riverboat cruise. We did this one year and really enjoyed it. We took ours on the Steamboat Natchez. Great way to see the city at night! Of course there is The House of Blues. They have live music every night and they have pretty good food. ACME Oyster house is also another cool place. Great Creole cooking, nice prices and a casual atmosphere. We enjoyed it. Well I hope this helps you, there are tons of wonderful places to go down there, and you will enjoy the live music. Happy travels.
