Am I the only one who thumbs down the answers with long bible verses that take up two pages?

The funny thing is, they must think people will actually stop and read through all that stuff.

Length of post has some bearing on whether I will read it -- but I tend to thumbs down non-intelligent prattle (i.e. stenciled "christian" responses) or hateful bigoted responses. I will always give a thumb up for humor though -- gets my vote everytime lol

I don't usually give thumbs down, unless its a racist or hateful post, but I will say that those long bible quotes are useless. I also will not read cut and paste answers from other sources. I want answers where people are thinking and using their own words.

Length can be a problem, particulalry if it exceeds a page, but offering opinions on important matters without supplying any authority for it is worse.

Anyone can offer their opinion, and many do about the Bible, but it is surprising how often memories are in error.

God is the final authority, not me, and I prefer acknowledging Him and giving Him the credit.

I do too, but if it looks like there is actually some effort involved, then I'll read it. All too often somebody comes along and copies and pastes and entire pre-made article, and those I ALWAYS thumb down.

Of course, I'm pretty long-winded myself, so I feel I owe it to others to read their long posts if I expect them to read mine. :)

I do it for the same reason, they take up too much damn room and rarely have a shred of thought behind them. I think a lot of us do it.

If you have to use massive tracts from the bible to 'prove' a point, how about just posting a link to the passage. It is Internet 101.

Brevity is a virtue. No it is not just you. Any 2 page cut and paste gets a thumb down.

No, I don't thumb them down. But I come pretty close, it kind of feels the same as someone cutting me off in traffic for a brief moment.

Yes, I think so. Then there are those who thumbs down when you don;t give references. So.......unless you answer the way they want you to, some people are going to thumbs down you................I like the ones who read it all and make their decision to thumb or not because of content/meaning alone.
